During the past years, in various collaborations, we have studied the cultural construction of infant motor development in the Netherlands and in Israel as well as among Druze-Israeli infants. We will discuss the developmental niches of motor development within these cultural contexts as well as cross-cultural similarities and differences in children’s actual motor skills.
